2003 Château Cheval-Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion
The key characteristic of this wine is the wonderful level of ripeness attained by the Cabernet Franc. The variety comprises 56% of the blend, supported by Merlot of the highest order, originating from heavily clay based plots that benefited from continuous water supply in these hot vintage conditions. Very intense black fruits on the nose; in the mouth the wine focuses on natural purity of fruit. It is succulent with an almost silky feel, supporting the ripe tannic structure. Beautifully long with a gloriously enticing feel.
