2013 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, Margaux
In 2013, only 21% of Château Margaux's production has gone into the second wine – the lowest ever. Managing Director, Paul Pontallier remarked that 15 years ago this would have gone straight into the Grand Vin, such is the quality of the wine this year. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend has given the Pavillon a perfumed elegance typical of top Margaux. Good core of ripe fruit though, and wonderful freshness.
