2020 Conca Tre Pile Barbera d'Alba, Poderi Aldo Conterno, Piedmont

The Conca Tre Pile vineyard, on a steeply sloping part of the Bussia Soprana hill, is home to Barbera vines of up to 45 years old. Aldo Conterno is one of the most iconic winemaking names originating from the region and the wines never fail to disappoint. Some ageing in French barrique gives additional spice and complexity and support the dark red plum and bramble notes as well as the hints of herbs and black pepper. The palate is juicy and the tannins are supple and well integrated making this a very approachable wine.
