2021 Raschen Ridge Estate Pinot Noir, Hirsch Vineyards, Sonoma Coast
Raschen Ridge is a knife-edge, rocky ridge cutting through the Hirsch vineyard, buffetted by ocean winds on one side and more sheltered on the eastern side. The result in the wine is polarised too between opulence and elegant restraint. Ripe red and black cherry mingle with aromatic dried orange peel and floral notes. Mouth-filling and silky on the palate, with incredible length.
