English Wine Producers
In an astonishingly short space of time, English Wine – particularly the country’s sparkling wine – has gone from being a curiosity to being a serious contender on the world stage. And while the likes of Nyetimber and Ridgeview can trace their history back to the start of the English sparkling wine journey in the 1990s, many of the new generation of produces have only forged a reputation in the last decade or two. The stunning subsequent progress of the likes of Wiston, Langham, Rathfinny, Hambledon and Gusbourne, among others, only whets the appetite for what is still to come. And while most of these names are based in and around Kent, Sussex and other south-eastern counties, this progress is slowly spreading to other parts of England.
