Vouvray Wine

Among the Loire Valley’s many iterations of its wonderfully multi-faceted Chenin Blanc grape variety, none are as rich in style, variety or ageability as those of Vouvray. The appellation is perhaps best-known for its honeyed, sweet renderings (‘moelleux’) which can age prodigiously in the hands of a top producer such as Domaine Huet. But the dry (‘sec’) bottlings too can offer great tension and vitality. The vintage plays a particularly key role here, dictating which style will be more successful, so it pays to do some homework on that element.
