Douro Touriga Nacional Wine

Set along the Douro River some 60 miles east of Porto, the Douro Valley is primarily known for its rich, ageworthy Ports, made largely from the native Touriga Nacional. However, the grape variety is also an increasingly fine source of exceptional dry reds whose style reflects the region’s schist soils and warm climate, offering dark-fruited intensity and structure allied, in the finest examples, to elegance and freshness. In contrast to Port, Douro reds are dry, with full fermentation, showcasing structure, dark fruit and freshness.
