Domaine Faiveley
Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1825, Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s largest family-owned domaines. Its holdings span more than 120 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, including 12 grands crus and 25 premiers crus. The vast majority of the domaine’s wines are made from fruit grown in the family’s vineyards, which span six Monopole vineyards (the monopole vineyard in Mercurey is one of the bargains of Burgundy) and plots in many of the Côte d’Or’s most prestigious crus, including Corton-Charlemagne, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Echézeaux, Musigny and Clos Vougeot. Most of the wines are vinified in the magnificent cellars in Nuits-St-Georges, recently renovated into more of a cathedral than a winery, but Faiveley has also invested in separate winemaking and viticulture teams in the Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise, fine-tuned the barrel selection, and built a state-of-the-art winery in Mercurey.
